Basic computer courses for union members

Interested in learning about computers?

This course is aimed at all union members wishing to develop IT skills and is intended to help with personal and career development.

The course will meet the aims of all learners and will include the following:

Basic intro to computers Word processing, Internet and e-mail Desktop publishing/designing a flyer.

PowerPoint

This introductory course runs for a total of 12 hours. The course introduces students to  (Microsoft PowerPoint) and will assist learners to produce a presentation. Students will produce a portfolio of work and will gain OCN (Open College Network) accreditation.

Web Page design

This introductory course runs for a total of 12 hours, usually over two days. The course introduces students to Web Page Design (Microsoft FrontPage) using an industry standard programme. Students will produce a portfolio of work and will gain OCN (Open College Network) accreditation. You will produce a fully functional web site that can be uploaded to the internet supported by FrontPage extensions.

You should have basic IT skills and a keen interest in page layout.
