This course will help you to develop the skills and knowledge you need to represent your members. Things you will learn about include:

  • the role and responsibility of safety reps
  • how to identify hazards and problems in your workplace
  • how to improve union organisation on health and safety
  • how to take up problems with management
  • what the laws say about health and safety.

This course is for union reps who have completed the above course.

Things you will learn about include:

  • the changing role of health and safety reps
  • the legal framework, including the links between UK and European law;
  • getting involved in assessments
  • the management of health and safety
  • information/consultation systems
